We keep waiting for positive changes to happen outside of us. But they will not. We have to reach the conclusion that changes for the better can happen only if we change ourselves from within. Then we will begin to see our world differently.
Our egoism, i.e., the desire to enjoy for self-benefit alone, currently depicts the world for us. But egoism has essentially finished its development. It has shown us the world it is capable of giving us, which is a dead-end world that leads us to emptiness, disappointment, fear, discomfort, and the feeling that we can no longer continue in the same way.
This happens so that we understand that there are no more changes to make on the outside.
Our egoism has done its job. It has brought us to the realization that we cannot continue existing according to the same paradigm.
So what should we do?
We have to correct ourselves, and through correcting ourselves, we correct the world.
This requires an entirely different method of development. Instead of trying to change, conquer, and reshape the nature surrounding us, our development needs to now take place within us. And as we change ourselves, the world will change accordingly.
What does it mean to change ourselves? It means changing our attitude toward everything around us, from an exploitative and egoistic attitude to a kind and altruistic one.
Then we begin to see the world differently. Through this new attitude, we start to perceive a different system of governance that was previously hidden from us. And what do we receive from such a change? We begin to bond with the world and attain its eternity, infinity, and perfection, qualities we cannot presently perceive because we view everything through my limited egoistic eyes. Such is the change that lies ahead of us all.
