Is Our Perception of Reality Limited By Our Human Senses?

We are used to perceiving reality through our five senses, and it seems to us that without them, we are limited, lacking, cut off from life. But from a deeper perspective, what we call “seeing,” “hearing,” or “feeling” through the body is only a very narrow channel of perception. True perception does not depend on the body at all.

If we turn inward, not in an imaginary way but in a deeper inner awareness, we begin to discover that everything exists within us. The sky, the stars, and the vastness of space are not outside us, but in the field of perception that we can open inside ourselves. The limitation is not in the absence of senses, but in our attachment to them.

In fact, if we were not confined to the body and its senses, we would experience reality in a much broader and more complete way. The body restricts and defines us, giving us a narrow identity. Without that limitation, we could feel a kind of wholeness and perfection that we cannot imagine while we are bound to physical perception.

In such a state, the feeling of deficiency disappears. We feel no lack because we do not measure ourselves against external conditions. We live in a complete inner field where everything is present.

This is why, when many of us look at the stars, we become still. Something in us senses that what we are seeing represents infinity, something boundless and eternal, while we ourselves feel small and temporary. This contrast quiets us. It touches a deeper layer of perception.

But that same sense of infinity is not only outside us. It exists within us as well. If we learn how to access that inner depth, we can connect to that same boundless reality. We can feel the existence of everything, not as distant objects, but as part of a unified perception.

And in doing so, we begin to enter a state that can be called “infinity.” This takes place in the sense of perception without limits, where the boundaries of time, space, and individuality begin to dissolve.
