The Book of Zohar with the Sulam (“Ladder”) commentary and also The Study of the Ten Sefirot (TES) are two truly monumental sources of spiritual power. These are not merely books in the ordinary sense. They are foundational works that present the structure of the spiritual system. The Book of Zohar reveals this system through the Sulam commentary, while TES serves as a comprehensive commentary on the writings of the ARI, explaining the laws and mechanisms of the upper worlds.
The uniqueness of these sources lies not in the information they contain, but in the spiritual force embedded within them. When we study them correctly, we connect to the spiritual system they describe. Through this connection, we draw upon ourselves the influence of the upper light.
This does not depend on intellectual understanding. Many people believe that one must first attain spiritual perception in order to benefit from these texts, but this is not so. Even if we understand nothing of what we read, we can receive their influence. By studying these authentic Kabbalistic sources and making an effort to connect to the inner system they describe, we attract an illumination from the light that gradually advances us to spiritual attainment.
The light acts upon a person according to the needs of their soul and leads them through the stages of spiritual development. How far must one progress? To the full extent of the soul’s potential. Every person must ascend through the spiritual degrees until they reach the World of Infinity (the World of Ein Sof) and attain the very place from which their soul descended into this world.
Therefore, the study of these great Kabbalistic works is no academic pursuit, but a practical means of connecting to the spiritual reality that governs our existence. Through them, we awaken the force capable of transforming our perception, correcting our nature, and guiding us back to our eternal root.
