While we are alive here in this world, i.e., this form of existence of protein-based matter, there is an immense number of tiny grains of egoism, which are corrupted desires to enjoy for self-benefit alone that were created by the Creator—the single force of love and bestowal that created and sustains reality.
These tiny grains of egoism undergo a process of development to their ultimate destination and purpose, and that developmental process includes three distinct phases: purification, correction, and connection.
Hell is the feeling and realization of our egoistic nature, i.e., that our nature is a lowly desire to enjoy for self-benefit alone, and that we wish to enjoy ourselves often on account of others.
Purgatory is when we try to correct and cleanse our egoistic nature, where we aim, work, and request to invert our intention from self-benefit to the benefit of others and nature.
Heaven is when our egoistic nature becomes inverted and thus operates at the service and benefit of other people.
We must go through these three stages throughout our lives in this world until we reach the final third stage. Therefore, if we understand that hell, purgatory, and heaven mean attaining awareness of our egoistic nature, its correction, and then its correct use, everything will be fine. We must try.
