One day a disciple approached his teacher and demanded of him: “Teacher, I want full realization and perfect attainment of the truth.” “Wait,” said the teacher, “It will take some time, and this will certainly happen to you.” “No,” said the student, “I want it to happen now, right now!”
The student followed the teacher, who led the student to the river, grabbed his head, plunged it into the water, and held it until the student began to choke. Then the teacher released the disciple. “What are you doing?! Another moment and I would have died!” cried the disciple. The teacher replied, “Now you understand to whom the truth is revealed.”
Indeed, the higher truth is revealed only to those who cannot live without it, and who agree to do anything to attain it. But how can we reach such a strong demand for the truth? It is only according to a higher will, that in nature’s higher plan. Those who seek the truth about life, its ultimate meaning, is an outcome of the soul’s search to free itself from the shackles of the inborn bodily, self-centered perception and sensation of life. Special souls inquire about the truth—the meaning of life—but the more humanity evolves, the more souls approach such a state.
What is the truth? Truth is the attainment of the laws of nature that act in perfection throughout the universe and our lives. Everyone has to reach such attainment one way or another, sooner or later. However, not everyone will have to endure feelings of not being able to breathe. Special souls go through such stages. Afterward, there are those who follow in their footsteps en masse.
