Moving from hatred to love might seem impossible. How can a person who clearly hates today suddenly come to love tomorrow? It seems unrealistic, even fantastical. Yet such a transformation is entirely possible because we already live in states that reveal the complete inadequacy of our current nature.
Look at where humanity has arrived. Despite all our efforts, achievements, technologies, and accomplishments, we find ourselves increasingly empty and dissatisfied. Everything seems to slip through our fingers. We pursue success, wealth, power, and recognition, yet none of these bring lasting fulfillment. We continue to advance externally while remaining internally lost. In many ways, we are like blind puppies, stumbling through life without understanding where we are going or why. It is a tragic condition.
Precisely because we have reached such an extreme state, we have become capable of change. When we fully recognize the limitations of our egoistic nature, where we wish to enjoy for self-benefit alone at the expense of others and nature, and see that it cannot lead us to happiness, we become ready for a different way of being. Such a realization opens the door to transformation.
However, we cannot do this change through our own egoistic efforts. We need to ask the force of nature itself to change us. For this, we need to develop a desire for a new nature, a new attitude to life and to others. When such a request becomes genuine, we attract upon ourselves a force that can transform our feelings, qualities, and perceptions in ways we could never imagine.
The reason this is possible is that the fundamental force operating in nature is love. The Creator is love. Therefore, when we align ourselves with this force and ask to resemble it, we begin to undergo an inner transformation. Hatred gradually gives way to connection, rejection to closeness, and separation to unity.
This is the next stage of human development. The deeper our disappointment with egoism becomes, the closer we come to discovering the power of love that exists in nature and learning how to live by it.
