There was a time when there was no Internet. Today, however, people go crazy if they suddenly lose connection with it.
Like almost everything, the Internet contains both good and bad. The Internet revolution has indeed transformed our perception, placing us within a network that connects everyone.
At the same time, the Internet also lets us withdraw from the world. Everything is accessible, and there is no need to leave home, no need to go anywhere. We can simple disconnect. From this, loneliness, depression, and distress can develop.
On one hand, the Internet offers opportunities to be enriched by all the good things in the world. On the other hand, it can intensify the craving for negative things as well.
Online, one can communicate in a direct and authentic way. But one can also lie, assume a false identity, or invent a persona. The Internet has granted freedom, a breaking of boundaries. Today, everyone feels that they live in a global world, as if sitting in one room with all of humanity. In addition, the Internet has given every individual a platform to express their views and become an independent media outlet.
Moreover, as we well know, in the online era we are constantly being sold to, deceived, and manipulated. What is good about this is that it pushes us to understand what is flawed in human connections.
There is no doubt that the Internet accelerates development. It speeds up processes and shows us everything embedded in human nature at full volume. At some point, we will come to realize that enough is enough. We cannot live like this. It is impossible to live under constant pressure, in a state of ongoing defense, knowing that everyone is trying to exploit us for their own benefit. It is suffocating and exhausting, not a life worthy of a human being.
We all live together on this planet, interconnected, interdependent, and mutually influential. Therefore, it is time to upgrade the code of human connection. Otherwise, we will have no positive future.
Then, we will decide that we must shift to a different kind of connection, a more advanced network. Just as all of nature is unified, with its parts interconnected in a single integral system, so too must we learn to exist through connection between opposites and mutual complementarity. At the peak of our development, we will be “as one man with one heart,” and this will open before us an entirely new and higher world.
This will be the next evolutionary stage in humanity’s evolution. It will be expressed in feeling that we need an inner network of connection, without routers, cables, fibers, and devices, a direct connection between hearts and minds, through an unlimited channel, from each to all.
Thus, today’s Internet sums up the humanity’s evolution to date. It helps us understand what is missing in human connection, and ushers us toward the ideal and complete network of connection of tomorrow.
