For me, there is no question, the Creator exists. He is not some abstract figure in the clouds, but the force that created everything, including us. And not only did He create us, He also embedded a very specific purpose within us, one that we must fulfill.
That purpose is to become like Him.
That is why we are called “human,” which in Hebrew is the word, “Adam.” It comes from the Hebrew word for “similar” (“Domeh”). A human being is called “Adam” because we are destined to become similar to the Creator in our inner qualities.
What does that mean? It means attaining the quality of bestowal: to give, to love, to create, and to care without any self-interest. The Creator is the source of the whole of reality, the force that bestows endlessly, and which governs all the worlds through absolute giving and love. This is the state that every one of us must reach. It is the fullest meaning of being human.
Also, everyone needs to reach this state. Whether we are aware of it or not, whether we believe in it or resist it, this is our path. It might sound mind-boggling now, and it is, but it is the soul’s ultimate evolution.
In the end, we will come to it. We will all become like the Creator, whether we want to or not.
