Dr. Michael Laitman To Change the World – Change Man

Can the Media Be Used to Manipulate Us?

People are pumped full of false information, subjected to media manipulation, and then go to the polls with firmly held opinions. Whose opinions? Those of some wealthy tycoon?

And yet, the feeling of belonging to a certain camp fills people with great strength and power. Politicians scatter beautiful words, promises follow promises, and so we roll along, struggling like puppets in the hands of those pulling the strings.

To build a new, corrected society, we need a new kind of education, new people, and leaders of a different caliber. Leaders who have no personal interests, neither honor, wealth, status, or power, but only concern for the good of society, coupled with a deep understanding of what can truly benefit it.

When will we begin moving in this direction? When it becomes clear that there is no other choice.

A rational society, in the fullest sense of the term, will be a society with an approach that corresponds to the laws by which life develops in the great system of nature. Nature is built upon the connection between opposites. It is entirely integral and global, with all its parts interconnected through mutual complementarity. When we embark on a long-term educational and social process that teaches us how to build such relationships, our lives will become as rational as possible.

What are the key points that will change in our approach? First, we will have to treat everyone equally. There cannot be someone who is worth more and someone who barely counts. Second, we will need to develop the ability to relate to everyone as we do to ourselves, based on a deep feeling that we depend on them completely, that they literally nourish us, connected through inner channels to our soul and giving it life. When we see that this is the nature of creation, it becomes clear that the more we care about others, the more we ensure our own existence.

Nature is a supremely rational mechanism. It makes no mistakes. Everything is calculated from beginning to end and from end to beginning. There is no past, present, or future. Everything exists above time, space, and motion. What distinguishes the human species is that we have the power to rise to a level of development at which we acquire this rationality.

The wisdom of Kabbalah studies the complete system of nature and teaches us to practice, within a group framework, the principles according to which this system is built. Gradually, we begin to feel the general force operating throughout nature and acquire qualities like its own, those of positive bestowal, giving, and love, a second nature above the egoistic desire embedded in us from birth.

We learn to include everyone as one, to understand that there is no one person who is good and another who is bad, no opinion that is wrong and another that is the absolute truth. Instead, there is a single higher opinion, that of nature, the comprehensive law operating throughout creation. We need to discover this opinion together and ultimately bring ourselves into alignment with it, until we attain complete rationality.
