Dr. Michael Laitman To Change the World – Change Man

Are Tears Different for Men and Women?

There is something very deep about tears. I am not talking about children’s tears, but specifically those of adults. When adults cry, there is a kind of silent scream, a tremor of the soul that we simply cannot be indifferent to. When I see someone crying, especially quietly, I feel that inner tension immediately.

Tears conceal a lot. They carry within them a deep and subtle stress that spills out from within. When we cry, we cleanse ourselves. We release something from within that words fail to carry.

Crying, however, is not easy. Especially for men. It is rare, and it only happens in moments of deep emotional clarity, when realization and feeling merge. Those are not the same as women’s tears.

This is where a fundamental boundary between men and women lies. A woman simply cannot cry for male reasons, and a man cannot cry for female ones. We are different, and so very different that we cannot fully understand each other’s internal systems. That is why we were created as two, not one.

Moreover, it is not only the reasons that differ, but the tears themselves do. The systems through which they flow are completely separate. In a man, tears pass through the brain, with only a little involvement from the heart. In a woman, it is through the heart, and even deeper, through the womb, i.e., through the system of future birth.

These male and female systems are not only biological, but spiritual archetypes. A man cries when he grasps something, when it dawns on him and touches his emotions. A woman cries when her inner system is triggered. They are literally from different worlds.

Therefore, we ask, what does union mean between these two completely different beings? What happens when male and female tears meet?

They do not unite on their own. They can only unite in the single force of nature that exists above them, which Kabbalah calls “the Creator.” Only when they rise above themselves, beyond their natural, inner systems, can they find a shared root. That is the point where true union happens. It is not a union in the physical world, but in the spiritual one, in heaven. This attraction between man and woman, this pull of opposites, originates from that complex system. It is designed not to complete each other on the outside, but to reach a common revelation of the Creator together. The true union is thus created in heaven. That is where both male and female find their source and their wholeness.

I sometimes get asked why my voice trembles and my eyes water when I speak about my teacher, RABASH, It is because the root of my soul is in him. That connection is beyond reason, and above emotion. It lives in the very depth of my being. When I touch it, I change, because in that root, everything becomes one.
