Does Love Have Limits?

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

A law in love is that love has no limits. If you say, “I love you ninety-nine percent,” then it is not love.

My teacher, Kabbalist Baruch Shalom HaLevi Ashlag (the RABASH), gave an even cruder example: A husband tells his wife, “I love you 24 hours a day except for five minutes when I’m with another woman.” If you say that, then it is already not considered love.

Love is a relationship that must be unlimited, meaning it must fill the entire vessel, i.e., our whole desire. The size of the desire does not matter, i.e., whether our vessel is 20kg or 200kg in size, but it must be the whole vessel.
