At a deeper level beyond where we perceive drought as a physical phenomenon, drought is a spiritual shortage of the quality of Hassadim, which is a quality of kindness, positive connection, and bestowal.
If we rise above self-interest and acquire the spiritual quality of water, that of altruism, love, and bestowal, then we can influence the spiritual system and bring ourselves to a state of balance with nature.
However, in an era where self-interest runs rampant, we find ourselves increasingly unable to restrain our appetites, limit our selfishness, and accordingly we destroy nature faster than it can recover.
So the Earth dries out. Drought increases not from nature punishing us, but because we increasingly block the flow of spiritual water with our egoism the more we evolve.
