In the past, a woman would feel when she was ovulating, whether she had become pregnant, and even which week of pregnancy she was in. Today, without instruments and medical tests, it is hard to tell, and many difficulties also emerge from conception to birth. Is there a way to connect to nature from a new place, to feel what exactly is happening inside our bodies, perhaps also between us, and in general, on still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature? What is worthwhile for us to learn from the process of the creation of life regarding humanity’s next evolutionary stage?
There is no doubt that the creation of life, its emergence and development, is truly a wonder. At the still level, we understand that changes via interactions and energy transformations take place in matter. But how does the vegetative quality emerge from the still? We have yet to fully understand this. It is a new degree, which in addition to existence also contains life, personal development, and broad environmental evolution.
Plants give birth to plants, animals give birth to living bodies, and it seems that in the vegetative and the animate there is a certain aspect of a creative force, a force that is at the foundation of nature and the universe. It is a force that governs the whole system of nature, guiding its development in a certain direction. Be that as it may, we see that the development of life proceeds by way of cause and effect.
The human species belongs to the animate world, and within our body there is a life-creating mechanism. The absorption of the seed in the womb, the development of the fetus, the attitude of the mother’s body toward it throughout the months of pregnancy, the birth itself, and afterward nursing, care of the newborn, education, and the environment’s influence. The entire process is very precise and it gradates until the formation of a mature person who is capable of continuing the development of life. Delving into this process will help us better understand what nature wants when it develops life.
During pregnancy, the fetus develops inside the womb. The womb constitutes a perfect environment, an ideal habitat that provides for the fetus’ every need: warmth, security, protection, and nourishment. As the fetus develops, becoming born as a baby, then it continues to be wrapped in love. However, as the child grows up, leaving the home for social life, the environment gradually becomes colder, more hostile, and more stressful. At every turn, the grownup encounters ego games, power struggles, and destructive competition.
At this juncture, we need to take special note of the main aspect for the improvement of our lives, and even write it down for ourselves as a crucial task. If we wish to see people develop optimally into adults who maximize their potential as happy, confident, and successful human beings, then we have a mutual obligation to create a harmonious, peaceful, safe, and supportive environment for everyone, similar to how the womb enveloped us in our initial stages of our development. The mother’s body toward the fetus, and afterward the mother’s love for her children, both provide nature’s very own examples of how an ideal society should appear, a society that would give every one of its members the means to truly blossom.
If we liken humanity’s evolution to a gradually-developing fetus, we can say that until today, we have developed solely by the power of absorption. It is like a fetus in the womb that receives everything it needs for growth through the umbilical cord. Today, however, we are as if being born, exiting the womb into a new environment, one in which we gradually receive the ability of discernment and determination, like a child who increasingly needs to discern what they will want to eat, when, how much, as well as what is good and bad for us, what we will want to bring closer to ourselves, and what we will want to distance from ourselves. The quality of these discernments will determine our future form, the code of connection between the individual and society.
Today’s world presses us with more and more interconnection and interdependence. We are opening our eyes to the reality that we live in the same small boat. Such a reality increasingly shows us that we have no choice but to cooperate, to rise above the narrow egoistic worldview of “me versus you” to an integral worldview of “we are all family.” Until we develop this integral worldview, we will invite more and more blows upon ourselves. Eventually, we will understand that we need to organize for ourselves a new society in its essence, with integral values of mutual concern, connection, and complementarity.
The more we create a balanced and peaceful setting for ourselves, the more we will discover positive qualities existing naturally in the system of nature. Our relationships will then become more and more balanced, and we will experience more balanced moods, as well as better mental, and even physical health. We will enter pregnancy easily, pass through birth safely, and know how to build a harmonious environment for our children. Relationships between spouses, among parents and children, in the family, at work, in business, in the state, in the world, and in the entire ecological system will all “click” into a newfound harmony.
Everything begins and ends with the creation of a harmonious and peaceful environment. It will serve as a substrate for the birth of a new perception of reality. If we focus on this task, we will advance together to the next evolutionary degree. “Love your neighbor as yourself” will come out of the dark and dusty basement it now finds itself in, as a mere moral slogan, and it will rise to become felt as the code of perfect human connection. By activating this code into our relations throughout human society, we will bear witness to new inner senses opening up within us. Through them, we will begin to feel nature as a single, immense, and vast womb.
Gradually, we will connect more and more to the force that is at the foundation of life, and we will discover its quality of pure bestowal, love, and giving. Our equivalence with this force at the level of our social relations will enable us to feel deeper levels of balance in our bodies, throughout society, and throughout nature’s still, vegetative, and animate levels. We will merge into a single whole with nature, and we will enjoy a perfect sensation and understanding of everything that plays out in creation.
