The answer to this question is much more complicated than what we can solve with money alone. The more we own, the more concerns we add to ourselves. Therefore, if we wish to have security in our lives, we need to understand that it exists in other realms beyond what we can acquire with money.
Lacking or not having money is among our greatest fears. The truth is that it does not depend on the amount of money we have in our bank account. It is rather a psychological matter.
If it were possible for society to care about our well-being, surrounding us with warmth and love like a mother and father, then we could truly guarantee every person a life of calm, serenity, development, and growth. We are social creatures after all, and are greatly influenced by the atmosphere around us.
With this lofty picture, let us descend to the harsh reality. There was once no health insurance, and today it is standard. Everyone is a member of a health fund, entitled to medical services, medicines, and doctors. Similarly, it would be worthwhile to ensure that no one would be hungry for bread and other basic survival needs.
Imagine that every person was certain that no matter what happened, they would always have a basic basket of groceries, something to eat, and something to give their children. How would that affect anxieties and fears?
If we were to decide together to head in such a direction, the spirit among the people would already change. It would be proof that despite everything, we feel that we belong to one family. The economic gaps seen today in this country are completely unfit for the spirit of our people, and they point to the fact that we have developed in the wrong direction. Mutual guarantee, mutual support, and acts of kindness are the original values that built us as a nation.
Also, in the area of housing there is much to do, if only there will be willingness for connection and complementarity. For example, empty apartments, those bought by people who might live overseas for investment purposes, could provide a temporary solution for people who cannot manage to pay rent. The state would take upon itself their renovation after their use, to ensure those apartments do not lose value, and in the meantime arrange permanent solutions for housing crises.
Such mutual steps in the areas of food and housing would bring about the removal of survival anxiety, at the very least.
Indeed, such an approach is a revolution in perception: a revolution in relationships, in the perception of the connection between the individual and society.
When we understand that there is no choice and we will need to realize mutual care throughout society, we will require a prior process of broad explanation, or more precisely cultural-educational development in the whole society. In the media, educational and cultural institutions, workplaces, community centers, neighborhood centers, and in every place and every corner, it will be necessary to allocate quality time to developing a new perception of relationships. On a daily basis, like physical activity that has already entered the routine. New relationships at home, work, society, and in the state.
It all begins with understanding that the world of tomorrow can only be connected, and signs of this are seen everywhere. From one day to the next, the connectivity between everyone grows, and also mutual dependence rises. Every action of someone shakes the boat we all sit in, threatening to sink it. In such conditions, without consideration and cooperation, we will have no future and no hope. No one will benefit from what they have in the bank, when we are caught in the eye of the storm.
The nature that surrounds us functions as a closed, integral, and round system. The still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature create a wonderful fabric, and life develops in connection and complementarity between opposites. In human society, by contrast, nature does not create the harmony on its own, but we ourselves need to want it and built it.
Money, by definition, symbolizes covering the ability to cover our needs. In a reality of mutual dependence, we will measure this ability according to a level of mutual care. Positive human connection will enable the fulfillment of everyone’s needs, and then the covering will truly be emotional and warm.
What are all the dollars worth anyway? Does anyone know what will happen to them tomorrow? And if a great war breaks out, or if an economic crisis wipes out everything we each have? We are constantly in fears, and true security comes only from support that others provide.
The feeling that we are together, in one state, guarantors for one another just like in the army, gives the most secure feeling.
Imagine how much we could save if we shared surpluses with one another, if we did not need to invest so much in struggle and defense, if everyone felt that society is family and constantly thought about how to improve its situation.
Good connection and mutual guarantee will help us save a lot, to prevent waste and locate additional resources. People who feel connected will begin to pay more attention to their surroundings. We would save in many aspects of our lives, from energy, electricity, and water, to various other services. With the improvement in human connections, health expenses will also decrease, as well as expenses for policing, supervision, law enforcement, and more. In every area of our lives we will be able to come out ahead.
Moreover, beyond everything mentioned, unity has a power that is not of this world. This comes from the fact that when we connect in a heart-to-heart manner, we align with the unity that is in the all-surrounding nature. Then, in the integral connection system that we construct between us will begin to flow the single force at the foundation of nature. This is a force that acts with a positive influence, giving life to all of creation, revealing additional sources of abundance and energy, and enabling growth.
Connection, warmth, love, and support will replace the feeling of fear.
