Real happiness emerges together with real connection between people. But what is “real connection between people”?
When we speak about real connection between people, it is not enough that we each come with our own “piece of clay” and say, “I have something too, let us build a little house together.” That will not work. Something essential is missing in that clay. What is missing is the inner connection between all the pieces, i.e., between the hearts of all people.
When such inner connection appears, when people’s hearts merge, then we return to the state called “Adam,” a state of similarity (“Adam” from the word “Domeh,” meaning “similar” in Hebrew) to the upper force of nature, a force of pure love and bestowal. This is the state of a single soul that is omnipresent and eternal outside the perception of the shattered state that we know of as our world. Our existence in this world comes after we shattered and fell from our state as a single soul, dividing into billions of tiny fragments of that soul. By achieving real connection, we realign with the upper force of love and bestowal, participating with that original force in the creation of a perfect world.
The pure giving and loving intention of the upper force is one, and when we share that same intention, we merge as one single soul. All souls merge into one. That was our original state, and later, this unity shattered, and its fragments fell into our world. Now, our task is to return to that original state. This is what it means to “assemble the pieces of clay.” It is not about external cooperation, but about inner merging, one of connection, unification, and joining hearts into one.
That is the material from which happiness can be molded. Only then does true happiness appear. Not the fleeting pleasure we usually call happiness, but what the upper force originally intended for us. Within that original intention for our creation was the desire for us to experience real happiness.
In the understanding of the upper force, happiness is the connection of everyone into a single desire where no sense of separation or shattering exists between us. When we reach that state, we feel happiness in its truest definition.
