Dr. Michael Laitman To Change the World – Change Man

How Can I Live a Relaxing Life Without Fear of the Future?

We spend an enormous amount of our lives worrying about what will happen next. We worry about our health, our family, our livelihood, and countless situations that might never even occur. We constantly try to arrange the future according to what seems safest and most comfortable for us.

This is precisely where fear begins.

Fear arises because I have already drawn a picture of the future for myself and now worry that reality will not correspond to it. I want life to develop according to my plans, and when I cannot guarantee that it will, I become anxious.

There is another way to relate to life: Stop trying to control everything and calmly accept the flow of life as it comes.

This does not mean becoming indifferent or neglecting what needs to be done. Instead, internally, I accept that everything that happens comes from the Creator, i.e., the upper force of love, bestowal, and connection that created and sustains reality, and which guides our lives at every moment. Instead of fighting against every situation, I try to remain connected with the Creator through whatever He sends me.

Then my relationship with the future begins to change.

There is actually no future that I need to secure for myself. There is only the present moment. One moment arrives, passes, and another appears. If I can receive each moment as coming from the Creator, then I no longer need to construct imaginary scenarios about what will happen tomorrow and torment myself over them.

Every moment becomes an opportunity for connection.

This gradually brings a person to inner peace. The goal is not simply to eliminate fear or reduce pain. Those are consequences. The goal here is to establish the correct relationship with nature, with the Creator, i.e., with the force that governs everything happening in our lives.

When I resist what comes to me because it contradicts what I wanted, I separate myself from this governance. When I accept what comes and through it seek connection with the Creator, I begin to move together with the flow of reality instead of struggling against it.

This is something we must gradually learn to live.

We cannot control everything that will happen to us, nor do we need to. What we can change is our attitude to what happens. Instead of constantly asking, “What will happen to me?” we can ask, “How can I remain connected with the Creator in what is happening now?”

Then the future loses its frightening power over us.

What remains is the present moment, the Creator who sends it, and our effort to remain connected with Him. From this comes peace, closeness, and a completely different experience of life.
