Egoism, which is the desire to enjoy at the expense of others and nature, is human nature. However, it is possible to transform this inclination and acquire a second nature of love and bestowal.
On one hand, it is impossible to give up self-gratification, to truly love one’s neighbor, and to bestow to another by our strength alone. Our nature simply does not allow it. When we come to this sharp and bitter realization within ourselves, it is a very important moment. This state is called the “recognition of evil,” i.e., the recognition of our very human nature as an inherently egoistic quality that cannot consider others at all.
From this point we begin to ask: “If my nature is egoistic and I cannot overcome it, how can I rise above it? Where can I find a remedy that will let me change?”
Humanity has been searching for such a solution for thousands of years. On one hand, many people have already lost hope of finding it. But on the other hand, more and more people are beginning to understand that if such a remedy ceases to exist, then there is no real happiness, good future, or meaningful life ahead.
This creates a very painful dilemma. We see clearly that it is impossible to continue living according to our egoistic nature, but at the same time we feel that we cannot move forward beyond it. There is no way back and no visible way forward. When we reach this point, we feel stuck.
However, this juncture is a crucial pivot point. When we reach such a state, we begin to understand that if nature has placed this task before us, then nature must also host the solution. The solution cannot be found in ordinary human relationships, in society, or in the egoistic systems we have built. The solution lies within nature itself.
At that moment, we begin to gradually and perhaps even unconsciously turn to nature itself. This is what we call “communication with nature,” or “communication with the Creator.” We begin to feel that the answer must come from the very force that created this nature.
When we understand that the solution to the transformation of our egoistic nature resides within the very force of nature itself, then we need to ask that force to reveal it to us. This request must eventually reach a point where we genuinely feel that we have no other option, hope, or source of help.
Only when we reach such complete inner despair, when we genuinely need nothing except this solution, does nature begin to respond. The answer appears when the need becomes absolute.
Moreover, humanity as a whole is now being led precisely toward such a state. We cannot bypass it or escape it. Nature leads us to the awareness that our egoistic mode of existence has reached its limit. This inner crisis is necessary because without it we cannot transition into a new mode of existence.
Therefore, if someone hears about this process and begins to understand it, what should they do? They should strengthen themselves in this understanding. We would be wise to hold onto this paradigm, that the solution lies in turning to the force of nature itself and asking for the ability to rise above the egoistic nature imprinted in us. Why? It is because this inner turning point is exactly where the transformation begins, and by doing so, we can discover a much wider and broader reality beyond the narrow limits of our egoistic, self-centered perception, one where we feel total connection to everyone and everything, eternal pleasure flowing through the common attitude of love and bestowal we reveal, and a complete perception of the eternal and whole reality.
