Are Bad People More Successful in Getting What They Want Than Good People

People often think that if someone is good, righteous, or pure, then life should reward them with comfort and peace, while those who behave badly should receive suffering. However, our egoistic world does not function according to such simple justice. The system in which we live is distorted by egoism—the desire to enjoy at the expense of others and nature—and therefore it is incorrect to expect a direct correspondence between good actions and pleasant outcomes.

In a world built on egoism, even people who strive for goodness might encounter difficult fates and severe blows. This is natural because the environment itself is still governed by egoistic forces. We should not expect this world, in its current form, to reward goodness consistently. Especially now, as humanity approaches the final stages of its correction, the world is entering a period of great transformation.

The world is becoming increasingly integral, interconnected, and interdependent, and we must learn how to adapt ourselves to this reality. The crises we experience are meant to teach us how to change so that we can live in harmony with this emerging integral system.

Is it possible to prepare for this? Yes, in a sense we can. You could call it “prophylaxis,” prevention. In fact, this is precisely what we who study and teach the wisdom of Kabbalah are engaged in: the preparation of humanity for the future world that is already beginning to appear.

The main preparation is internal change. We need to gradually become less egoistic. The pressures we experience shake us and push us in a direction of becoming different people. Nature uses both harsh and gentle means, depending on how willingly we respond to such pressures.

The second step is learning how to unite above our egoism. This is very difficult because our nature resists it. However, the process begins when we recognize that our egoistic nature is the source of the problem and begin to aspire for positive human relations.

Humanity is now entering a stage where the forces of nature themselves will educate us very seriously. Through crises and challenges, they will guide us toward a new level of connection and responsibility for one another.
