On the earthly level, in this world, with these hands and this head, we cannot change anything for the better. We imagine that we can build, reform, overthrow, and improve, but in reality, we cannot correct the root of anything. Our every attempt to make society better, to improve the world, are the same old games. Humanity keeps repeating them, thinking that this time it will succeed, that this time it will find the right leader, system, or reform.
However, the problem is not the lack of a leader. The problem is that we do not know how to use the forces of nature. We do not understand the system in which we exist. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah explains. It teaches how to access the positive force of nature and how to draw it upon ourselves so that it changes us, and through us, it changes the world.
What is the world? The world is what we perceive and feel around us. If we look at everything through a negative lens, i.e., through egoism, criticism, and hatred, then we see a bad world. If we see with a corrected and benevolent eye, then we see a different world. The world is our perception.
Therefore, the real question is not how to change others or external systems, but how to change our own negative attitude into a positive one. This is the entire wisdom of Kabbalah. It is a wisdom of reception (“Kabbalah” means “reception” in Hebrew), which means how we can receive in a way that truly benefits others, the world, nature, the universe, and ultimately, our true selves. It teaches us how to relate in an optimal, harmonious, and balanced manner to the place in which we exist. When our perception changes, the world changes.
