Dr. Michael Laitman To Change the World – Change Man

What Are the Advantages of Speaking With Good Intentions?

Today, when we look at humanity, we see a lot of people shouting. On television, on talk shows, people sit a few feet apart and yell nonstop, as if volume could replace meaning. Shouting cannot lead to anything; people are not proving anything to one another. They simply do not hear each other. Each one speaks only so that the other will not be heard. In such a state, there is no dialogue at all.

Real conversation begins only when one person wants something good for the other. If the person sitting opposite me were to take my hand and speak calmly, softly—even in a whisper—conveying their message from the heart, then my heart would open in response. Then something could pass from one heart to another. Words would become secondary. Feeling would become primary. In such a conversation, very little needs to be said, yet everything becomes understood. Even observers would feel it immediately. They would sense a warm, human, and genuine interaction.

However, this is not the state of our world today. Humanity is still in a phase where verbal fighting is considered entertainment, just like physical fighting has been turned into sport. This kind of shouting will exhaust itself. It must. Time itself will act and show people that this is useless, that nothing positive comes from it, and that it is not worth participating in these verbal circus performances. Gradually, the desire for them will fade. Then a turning point will come, and only afterward will there be room for a serious expression of intentions.

This will not come from us. Nothing good can come from us on our own. It will come from above as part and parcel of our natural development. Humanity will be brought to a state where silence becomes preferable to noise. Where people will be ready to sit quietly together. Then, communication will move from words to feelings. This is because the real work is not to change others, but to do correct ourselves, i.e., to upgrade our intention from one that is purely egoistic and self-aimed to one that is aimed at benefiting others and nature.
