Dr. Michael Laitman To Change the World – Change Man

Why Do Things Get Extremely Worse Before a Breakthrough in Life?

When we stand before something absolute, a fate we cannot alter, a situation we cannot escape, we suddenly discover the place where change is possible.

That place is within us.

From that moment onward, we set off on an inner journey to change ourselves from one moment to the next, step by step and breath by breath. This is how we can realize an optimal life in this world.

We should thus welcome dead ends. How could it be otherwise? Dead ends are turning points, the very mechanism by which we become formed as human beings.

It is similar to how a small toy car bumps into a wall, turns, bumps again, and turns again until it eventually finds an open path. When we encounter hopeless situations, they force us to recalibrate and redirect ourselves to head in other directions.

By moving from one dead end to another, we will indeed find a way out. Everything is programmed from above. Every dead end is a precise instruction: “Turn here.”

Therefore, we should praise dead ends, as they are a force that constructs us.

Moreover, we can never reach the correct decision that we need to make as humanity without reaching a dead end. What is that decision? It is to annul ourselves.

What does it mean to annul ourselves? It means that the individual does not decide the goal, define the path, place themselves at the center, and pushes their own ideas onto others.

Instead, we annul ourselves before others so that they can achieve their goal. If we pursue anything else, we stand in their way. If we annul ourselves, we help them advance. In an ideal state, everyone does this for one another. We each help others reach their goal, and this creates a perfect and complete system.

What happens then to my “self”? This is the most beautiful part. When we annul our egoistic “self,” we discover our true “self”—the collective, common self, the unified soul, within which we discover the upper force, the Creator.

This is where the path leads. Through the dead ends, the separations, and the hopeless situations, we end up reaching the revelation of the single force of love and bestowal that guides everything. That is why every dead end is not the end, but the beginning of our genuine self.
