Dr. Michael Laitman To Change the World – Change Man

What Is True Friendship?

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

True friendship requires inner work. There is no such thing as a friend without flaws. When you look at another and see their shortcomings, you are in fact looking into a mirror: their flaws are yours.

The world around us is a reflection of our inner state. If you see evil in others, it exists within you. Change yourself, and the world will change before your eyes. Then you will find that you are not in hell but in paradise.

Most people fail in relationships because they have never been taught how to relate to one another in a harmonious and positive manner. Humanity has glorified egoism for generations, believing that success comes from defeating others. But now we see the result: the world is burning out from egoism. The way forward from such a state is to begin valuing our connection, for within that connection we will find a new dimension, the purpose of life itself.

To preserve a friendship to the end, we need to remember that everything bad you see is within you. Strive to correct yourself until you see beauty and goodness everywhere. Then you will feel that you live in paradise.

A true friend is not someone who flatters you or makes you feel comfortable. A true friend is one through whom you see your flaws because they help you grow. Those who praise you rob you of progress. Those before whom you feel small or imperfect are the ones who help you rise. They compel you to overcome yourself, to reach for the next spiritual degree.
